Women’s Self-Defence Seminar at Six London

Self Defence Classes

Great work learning the basics of self defence with the lovely ladies from Six

As part of International Women’s Day Kitty travelled to Six in Farringdon, London to run three Women’s Self-Defence Seminars. The sessions were great, with amazing energy and input from everyone. It’s not always easy to lift your inner fighter at these session, but these brilliant ladies really put the effort in and pushed themselves.

The Women’s Self-Defence Seminars focused on VAWG (violence against women and girls), including gaining a clear understanding of what your objective is in Self-Defence. The sessions looked at how to recognise warning signs both in short and long term relationships to help raise awareness of the different types of violence against women and girls. We discussed and reinforced personal safety boundaries to help us feel more confident when we are out and about as well as within relationships.

We finished the seminar by working through some simple pre-emptive strike drills, boundary setting drills and striking drills on pads, which everyone did really well at.

Thanks so much for having me, I had a great day!
